Stress and Anxiety Relief
Margot Levin, Ph.D.
Is stress interfering with your enjoyment of life?
Stress impacts us both emotionally and physically. Common signs of stress include:
Trouble sleeping
Muscle tension
Difficulty concentrating
Irritability
Chronic fatigue
Over time, unmanaged stress can lead to:
Anxiety
Depression
Burnout
Headaches
High blood pressure
Digestive problems.
For many of us, stress builds gradually—whether from work, caregiving, life transitions, or ongoing uncertainty—until it begins to interfere with daily functioning, relationships, and overall well-being. Therapy can help you understand your stress triggers, build healthier coping strategies, and regain a sense of control.
Anxiety and other effects of stress
Everyone feels anxious…
If we never feel anxious, it means we’re not challenging ourselves or trying new things. Sometimes, though, anxiety can feel overpowering and lead to unhelpful avoidance, procrastination and perfectionism.
I have worked with adults and young adults experiencing anxiety in many forms:
Persistent worry
Panic attacks
Social anxiety
Obsessional thoughts and compulsive behavior
Anxiety can appear as racing thoughts at night, a tightness in your chest in social situations, or constant self-doubt and persistent self-criticism. It can feel overwhelming and isolating, but it isn’t a flaw; it’s a signal from your mind and body that something needs attention.
I can help you understand the roots of your anxiety and learn new ways to manage it.
Stress can also lead to Depression…
Persistent and ongoing sadness,
Loss of motivation
Fatigue
Withdrawal from relationships,
Difficulty concentrating
Feeling weighed down by hopelessness and self-criticism
I am an experienced therapist. I can help you to:
Feel better
feel more present, more connected, and more like yourself again
Feel less hopeless
Understand the role of trauma and early experiences in your life
Form more satisfying relationships
How I Help You Overcome Stress and Anxiety
My approach incorporates a strong foundation in psychodynamic therapy, as well as treatments like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy(DBT), and mindfulness-based techniques.
I am here to help you develop tools to cope with the symptoms of your anxiety, as well as help you to identify the patterns, experiences and relationships that reinforce and maintain your anxiety and stress.
About Margot
In my work, I can see the way stress shows up in my client’s bodies, in their anxious and self-critical thoughts, their perfectionism, avoidance of social situations, and their obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors.
I have worked with many people experiencing these issues. I have helped clients to identify and manage negative, repetitive thought loops; self-critical thoughts; and feelings of hopelessness. I have helped them identify ways to relieve physical tension and be more mindful and present-focused.
I have also helped them understand how past experiences and trauma may contribute to how they are feeling as adults.
