Margot Levin, Ph.D.
Are you struggling to adapt in a new phase of life?
Here are some transitions I’ve helped people with….
Starting college
Starting a first job
Finding a partner; ending a relationship
Becoming (or choosing not to become) a parent; pregnancy and pregnancy loss
Caregiving for loved ones with dementia or other serious illnesses
Some transitions feel like a natural progression, while others can shake us to the core.
Transitions, whether joyful or sad, cause stress. We often feel increased anxiety as our role and identity changes.
Sometimes we move into a new stage of life because of a loss, and we have to manage our grief along with our new role.
We may be thrilled about change, but it still raises complicated emotions.
Change can be more difficult because of past trauma that we have experienced
In any transition, we can feel unexpected and sometimes conflicting emotions: love, fear, pride, guilt, happiness or anger, to name a few.
How I Can Help You With Life Transitions
I have helped many clients to develop new tools to cope with change, to be more self-compassionate, and to manage guilt and feelings of loss. Sometimes people need a helping hand.
Skills you’ll gain:
Better Coping Skills: Learn healthy ways to manage your emotions.
Accessing your resources: Recognize the strengths and internal and external resources you already have.
Helping others while taking care of yourself: Preserve your health and well-being in demanding situations.
Setting boundaries and limits with others: Recognize your limits and learn how to communicate them.
